United Kingdom Armed Forces Association of Cricket Officials held their AGM and Annual Dinner event at the Kia Oval on Friday 5 April 2019, with over 25 attendees enjoying the day.
Following a lavish dinner, a number of presentations were made after another hugely successful 2018 season.
The “Miller Award” was presented to Victor Isaacs for his long service to the Association. Victor first scored in the Army in 1962 before leaving and taking up the scorer and statistician role with Hampshire CCC from 1975 to 2006 but returned to his roots with Army and UKAF officiating in 2008.
The “Development Umpire of the Year” award was won by George Horne, following a stellar season on the field where he became a ‘turn to’ official and was rewarded with this award and also a step up to the UKAF Development Panel for 2019.
There was also a Life Member award presented to Mal Miller for his outstanding service to Army and UKAF umpiring over a lengthy period.
Congratulations to everyone on such a great evening and to the award winners.
