Chairman to stand down after 5 years

Dec 12, 2022

UKAF ACO Chair Capt. Christian Nicholson has announced that he will be standing down at the Association AGM in March 2023.

Christian took on the role when the combined UKAF ACO was formed at the AGM in Salisbury in 2017.

In an update sent to the members, he said “Five years has seen many changes to our game in not only its Laws but also its membership, the playing conditions we use, the formats, the players we support and the excellent growth of the ACO and I personally feel it is now time for another change.

“UKAF ACO celebrates 5 years since its inauguration and on that day in Salisbury in 2017 I was humbled and honoured to be voted as the Chair of our new Association. After much consideration and conversation I have decided I will not stand for re-election as Chair at the AGM in March 2023. It truly has been an honour and a privilege to serve you as your Chair and one with so many cherished memories of moments and people. I have leaned on many of you for advice and support along the way and I will be forever thankful for your counsel and friendship.

“I hope I have served you all well.

“I will remain with the association and continue to support its future growth under new leadership. Hopefully it may even allow more time onfield doing what I love about this Association in the first place; officiating our beloved game. I will also, of course, continue to represent and serve the Association and you the members until the AGM.

Invitations are now offered to all serving members (Regular and Reserve) to consider applying for the position to cast some new eyes upon our future and nominations must be submitted to UKAF ACO Secretary Alex Rennie for voting at the AGM in March.
